I believe that the provision of a swimming pool in West Wicklow should be a priority for Wicklow County Council. All work to support this project should include include local community groups such as the Community Pool for West Wicklow committee, along with relevant National Governing Bodies of Ireland.
I support the provison of allotments in Blessington, and believe that more needs to be done by Wicklow County Council to ensure that every community in Wicklow has access to land to grow their own produce. This can be through the use of public land (Wicklow County Council, or other state bodies) or private land (with Wicklow County Council working with local landowners to make this possible).
Idle, derelict or unused land should be made available temporarily for community groups to grown their own fruit and vegetables, similar to what happens in other local authorities bordering Wicklow.
