Chapter 18 Green Infrastructure

With the ever increasing pressure from the walking public [especially Dublin] it is important that we in Wicklow step up to meet the challenge with 3 aspects.

  • Dog Control

More money needs to be allocated to this along with better use of current facilities eg out of hours work for dog wardens and adequate resources to help them.

  • Carparking

This problem has been highlighted over the past year in particular. Even though some work has been done , a lot more needs to be done such as the establishment of more temporary carparks.

  • Litter and Camping

This is now a major problem in the uplands. Bye laws needs to be enacted and enforcement officers need to be given more power.
